Following the Npower Update, FG has declared No Work No Pay on Npower Beneficiaries.
The Batch C2 Npower Beneficiaries who started their one-year programme in October 2022 have been placed under a “No Work, No Pay” condition by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. The Ministry cited a disheartening report of absenteeism and abscondment from their Places of Primary Assignment as the reason for this decision, and the Monitoring and Evaluation Team will continue to ensure compliance with the Npower programme’s codes.
The Ministry stated that it will penalize any beneficiaries found absent or who may have absconded from their Places of Assignment. Those found absent without official permission from their supervisor will be put on payment hold for 45 days. If there is no official clearance letter for their reinstatement by the State Focal Person at the end of the 45 days, they will be exited from the Npower Programme.
The Npower Management advised beneficiaries to stick to one engagement as it has fully implemented the “Terms of Engagement” in the Programme. The Ministry is also working to clear stipends for beneficiaries who are yet to receive them and those with backlogs.
