The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the Passing-Out Parade (POP) date for the 2023 Batch A Stream 2 Corps Members. According to the NYSC Management, the POP is scheduled to take place on the 15th of December 2023.
In an official statement, the NYSC Management outlined activities leading up to the Passing-Out date. These include the sensitization of Corps Members on job creation and opportunities after service by seasoned NYSC and National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Officers. The event itself will be a low-key affair and will culminate in the distribution of Certificates of National Service to deserving Corps Members at the Local Government level.
Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the NYSC Director General, expressed appreciation for the selfless services and numerous contributions of the Corps Members to the socio-economic development of the country. He urged them to apply the lessons learned during their service, especially the skills acquired through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program, as they embark on their post-service endeavors.
The Director General also emphasized the importance of safety, advising Corps Members to be security conscious at all times. He cautioned against exposing themselves to danger, rejecting the temptation of free rides, and avoiding night travel.
As the POP date approaches, the NYSC wishes the Corps Members a successful post-service life, encouraging them to leverage the skills and experiences gained during their service year.
