Opay, a major financial tech company, announced plans to enhance the security of its platform. Starting March 1, accounts not linked to the owner’s National Identity Number (NIN) and the bank’s Biometric Verification Number (BVN) will be logged out, complying with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Know Your Customer (KYC) directive.
Opay’s Director, Ik Kolawole Odiase, emphasized the importance of aligning NIN and BVN, stating that non-compliant accounts will be removed. The company is implementing various security measures to safeguard depositors’ funds.
