States in Nigeria are very serious about their decision to keep their borders closed despite governments lifting of the lock down restrictions to keep the economy from sliding into further calamity. Comedian Alibaba shared a photo of how some states are ensuring that there is no interstate travel until the corona virus is effectively contained.
The easing of the lock down does not mean a complete return to normalcy as there is anxiety and fears that the worst is yet to come. Governments at all levels are conscious of the dangers involved in relaxing the lock down at this time when the number of cases reported daily still remains very high. That is why in the states where they lifted the lock down, they still imposed a curfew from 8pm till 6am in the morning.
Only a few Nigerian states are yet to record cases of covid19 but that will be only a matter of time if interstate travel continues. That is why states are on red alert to ensure that people are not allowed to travel from states that have been infected to other states.
Corona virus is at its worst when it reaches community transmission because it will be difficult to control. Even when detected the hospital facility available in Nigeria will be over stretched that is why the government is making all necessary precautions to save the economy and lives too.
