On Tuesday, January 3, President Buhari enacted the N21.8 trillion budget for 2023.
Goldennewsng reports that the President stated that the signing will prevent a delay in the implementation of the 2023 budget.
He urged the National Assembly to reconsider its decision regarding the “ways and means” loan request for his administration’s N23.7 trillion.
In addition, Buhari entrusted the process of generating revenue to Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and other government institutions.
He stated, “We will accelerate the implementation of critical measures aimed at further improving the Nigerian business environment and ensuring the welfare of our people as this administration draws to a close.”
The budget for the fiscal year 2023 was approved by the Senate earlier.
The spending plan was expanded from N20.5 trillion, introduced by Buhari in October, to N21.8 trillion.
