N-Power MGT Proposes N60000 Monthly Stipends payment

In today’s Latest Npower News, Npower stipends payment news, the N-Power MGT Proposes a N60,000 Monthly Stipends payment for the prospective Beneficiaries of renewed hope Npower Skill Up Nigeria Program.

The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty alliviation Dr. Betta Edu disclosed this information in the latest interview she had with channels.

According to the Minister, the present pay is N30,000 but we are proposing a unified payment of N50,000 to N60,000 for the prospective Beneficiaries of the renewed Hope Npower Skill Up Nigeria Program.

The Minister further stated that they are waiting until they have the agreement on what the new minimum wage will be and then pay them according to the new minimum wage.

The Npower program is currently under restructuring by the new management and will commence fully by January 2024 when the restructuring is completed

FG Extends N-Power Age Limit to 40 Years: Creating More Opportunities for Youth

The Nigerian federal government has expanded the age limit for the N-Power program, providing increased opportunities for young individuals. Previously, eligibility was limited to those aged 18 to 35, but now, individuals up to 40 years old can apply. This change is part of a broader initiative aimed at generating five million job opportunities for Nigerian youth over the next five years.

Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the N-Power National Programme Manager, addressed concerns surrounding the recent suspension of the program. He explained that the pause was a strategic move to revamp and expand the N-Power program.

The new approach will aim to enroll one million new participants annually for the next five years, allowing a broader age range to participate. The revamped N-Power initiative will offer a wider range of programs, including education, health, construction, agriculture, technology, fashion, entertainment, and various skills that lead to employment.

Dr. Egbuwalo emphasized the program’s commitment to transparency and accountability, stating, “We want to ensure the program is fair and honest.” This change comes in response to instances where some participants abused the system. Some participants ceased active involvement in the program in 2022 but expected to continue receiving payments. Others received their monthly stipends despite failing to fulfill their job assignments.

To address these issues, the program required a temporary suspension to conduct a comprehensive review. Dr. Egbuwalo assured participants that after the review, honest participants with legitimate claims would receive the payments owed to them by the federal government.

N-Power News: Significant Changes Bring 5 Million New Jobs for Nigerians

The Nigerian Federal Government has unveiled ambitious plans for the N-Power job program, with the goal of providing employment opportunities for five million young people in the next five years.

Key Highlights:

  1. More Job Opportunities: The government aims to create jobs for five million individuals, offering hope to many young Nigerians.
  2. Age Limit Adjustment: The age limit for N-Power participation has been raised to 40 years, expanding the program’s reach.
  3. Message from N-Power Leadership: Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, who leads N-Power, addressed the changes and explained the temporary program pause, emphasizing improvements.
  4. Diverse Employment Sectors: N-Power will now include opportunities in various sectors, such as teaching, healthcare, farming, and technology.
  5. Enhanced Rules and Transparency: N-Power is committed to transparency and integrity, ensuring proper program management.

NPower Stipend Payments Set to Resume

NPower, a program in Nigeria aimed at empowering young people, is scheduled to resume stipend payments in January 2024. Dr. Betta Edu, responsible for poverty reduction and youth empowerment, announced this update, bringing relief to many beneficiaries awaiting payments.

Dr. Edu explained the delay in disbursements, citing a higher-than-expected number of program entrants. To ensure that funds reach those genuinely in need, an extensive verification process was initiated, with the goal of completion by December 2023.

Furthermore, the N-Power program is undergoing a transformation and will be renamed the “Hope Skills Acquisition Program.” This revamped program will not only provide financial support but also offer skills training to equip Nigerian youth for better employment prospects.

Dr. Edu assured that outstanding payments from the previous NPower program would be settled when the new program commences in January 2024. This development brings hope to those who have been patiently awaiting their stipends.

In summary, these updates from Dr. Betta Edu hold the promise of financial relief for many and the prospect of improved skills and employment opportunities for Nigeria’s young population. The future appears brighter for the nation’s youth with these developments.

N-Power: FG to employ 5million youths in five years

The federal government has said that the on-going overhauling of the N-Power programme will bring about the employment of five million youth in five years.

This is contained in a statement by the National Programme Manager of N-Power, Akindele Egbuwalo.

Egbuwalo, who urged Nigerians to understand the rationale behind the suspension of the programme and the subsequent restructuring it is undergoing, said the federal government was working to restore confidence in the programme.

Egbuwalo stated: “This restructuring and transformation will also birth an expanded programme to reach beneficiaries aged 18-40 (the previous age limit was 35).

‘We are targeting 5 million beneficiaries in 5 years at a pace of 1 million per year under the graduate and non-graduate stream”

Giving further details on what the restructured N-Power would look like, Egbuwalo disclosed that it will accommodate some new programmes, in education, health, works, agriculture, technology, fashion, entertainment, and other relevant areas of skill acquisition and employability.

He stated: “To earn the confidence of Nigerians in the expanded programme, transparency and accountability will be the benchmark. It shall no longer be business as usual as we make concerted efforts to put the nation on the right footing,  ensuring that no one directly or indirectly unleashes suffering on Nigerians.

He also explained that suspension of the Programme became imperative following the discovery of sharp practices and to also give room for a detailed investigation into its operations in the last twelve months.

Egbuwalo: “There is a need to audit the number of people in the programme, those who have exited the programme, those who are being owed, whether they reported to work or not, and how funds have been utilised over this period.

“Recently, we discovered instances of programme beneficiaries whose participation has lapsed since 2022 but have remained on and continue to expect payments from the government. In addition, some beneficiaries must honour their obligation to the programme. They do not report to their places of primary assignments as required but still receive monthly payments.

“These instances have made the need for a thorough audit imperative, as we also look into claims of those being owed for up to eight to nine months stipends to ascertain the veracity of their claims”

He assured all beneficiaries with genuine claims that the federal government will not owe anybody as it will resolve all cases and honour all valid outstanding obligations once the verification exercise is completed.

N-Power: Nobody‘ll be owed again after restructuring programme

FG Gives Hope to NPower Beneficiaries: Promises Transparency, Restructuring, and Payments

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured NPower beneficiaries that once investigations are complete, backlog payments will be made, and the program will be restructured for better service to youths. Learn more about the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step towards providing hope and assurance to the beneficiaries of the N-Power program. Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, released a statement on Sunday, addressing the temporary suspension of the program and outlining the government’s commitment to addressing various issues within the initiative.

In the statement, Dr. Egbuwalo reiterated the government’s dedication to resolving outstanding payment issues and improving the N-Power program to benefit a broader range of young Nigerians. Here’s a detailed look at the key points and promises made by the Federal Government:

1. Temporary Suspension for Investigation: The government announced the temporary suspension of the N-Power program to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into its operations over the past twelve months. This pause is essential to address various concerns, including the accurate count of program participants, those owed payments, and the utilization of funds.

2. Auditing Beneficiaries: One of the primary objectives of this investigation is to audit the N-Power beneficiaries. This audit aims to identify those who have left the program, those who are still owed payments, and those who have been receiving payments without fulfilling their obligations. The government intends to eliminate “ghost beneficiaries” and ensure that only genuine participants receive support.

3. Addressing Outstanding Payments: The government acknowledged that some beneficiaries have not received stipends for up to eight to nine months. This includes graduates and non-graduate volunteers from Batch C1 and C2. The government is committed to resolving these payment issues and ensuring that all valid outstanding obligations are met.

4. Transparency and Accountability: To regain the trust and confidence of Nigerians, the government has emphasized that transparency and accountability will be at the core of the N-Power program’s restructuring. The days of unaccounted funds and irregularities are numbered as the government strives to put the program on a solid footing.

5. Program Restructuring: The N-Power program is set to undergo a significant transformation. The age limit for beneficiaries will be expanded from 35 to 40, allowing a broader range of young people to benefit. Additionally, new programs will be introduced in fields such as Education, Health, Works, Agriculture, Technology, fashion, entertainment, and other relevant areas of skill acquisition and employability.

6. Targeting 5 Million Beneficiaries: The government has set an ambitious target of reaching 5 million beneficiaries within five years, at a pace of 1 million per year. This expansion aims to empower more young Nigerians with skills and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

7. Zero Tolerance for Mismanagement: The government expressed its commitment to rectifying the mismanagement of funds by some consultants. Those found holding onto beneficiaries’ funds without proper justification will face consequences, and the funds will be recalled to pay those who are owed.

In conclusion, the Federal Government of Nigeria’s pledge to investigate and restructure the N-Power program is a step in the right direction. It not only addresses the concerns of beneficiaries but also demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and providing opportunities for the country’s youth. As the program undergoes these changes, it is expected to serve as a more effective tool for poverty alleviation and youth empowerment in Nigeria.

Man Arrested After Disguising as Dispatch Rider to Murder Ex-Girlfriend in Lagos

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
