The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has officially flagged off the online registration for the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), a major component of the Federal Government’s ‘Jobs For All’ programme. This phase falls under the broader Renewed Hope Agenda and is focused on creating sustainable job opportunities for Nigerians across different sectors.

Earlier in the year, the NDE hinted that preparations were underway for the second phase, and it’s now live. According to the agency, this initiative is a bold step towards reducing unemployment and encouraging self-reliance through practical skill acquisition.

“We are calling on unemployed, underemployed, and interested youths to take part in this life-changing programme,” the NDE stated in an official release.

The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative offers free training in several categories — vocational, digital, agricultural, and entrepreneurial. It’s designed not just to train people, but to connect them to real employment opportunities while supporting economic growth through skilled manpower.

Below is a detailed list of the skill areas available under the programme:

A.

Rural Employment Promotion Programme

This category focuses on agriculture and rural enterprise. Training options include:

  • Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) – centered on modern and eco-friendly farming practices.
  • Organic Agricultural Training Scheme (OATS) – training in natural, chemical-free farming methods.
  • Fish Production and Feed Formulation Training Scheme (FPFFTS) – for individuals interested in aquaculture and feed processing.
  • Microlivestock Agricultural Training Scheme (MATS) – training in rearing small livestock like rabbits and poultry.
  • Small Stock (Goat) Production Empowerment Scheme (SSGPES) – a focused scheme on goat farming and small-scale animal husbandry.

B.

Small Scale Enterprises Programme

This track is designed for those interested in starting or expanding small businesses. It includes:

  • Start Your Own Business (SYOB) – guides participants through launching and managing a small-scale venture.
  • Enterprise and Finance Counseling Clinic (NDE-efcc) – business and financial advisory training.
  • Matured Peoples’ Programme (MPP) – tailored training for older individuals looking to launch a small business.
  • Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES) – support for existing micro-enterprises looking to scale.
  • Basic Business Training (BBT) – foundational business knowledge for aspiring entrepreneurs.

C.

Vocational Skills Development Programme

This area focuses on practical, hands-on technical and digital skills. Courses include:

  • Quick-Fix Demand Driven Development and Empowerment – intensive training tailored to market demands.
  • Digital Skills Training – covers areas like digital marketing, graphic design, and basic tech tools.
  • Community-Based Training and Empowerment – localized skill development focused on community needs.
  • Techno-Cultural Craft Training Scheme – training in traditional crafts using modern techniques.
  • Special Vocational Training – designed for Persons with Special Needs and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), ensuring inclusion.

D.

Special Public Works Programme

This category blends technical training with employment support, and includes:

  • Solar Energy Training and Empowerment Scheme – training on solar panel installation and renewable energy.
  • Environmental Beautification Training and Empowerment Scheme – focused on landscaping, waste management, and environmental care.
  • Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP) – temporary work placements for recent graduates to gain experience.
  • Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS) – academic support and exam preparation for job seekers and graduates.

To register for any of these training programmes, applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIN), a valid email address, and passport photographs. Registration is open from Monday, 28th July 2025 and will close on Monday, 11th August 2025.

Interested individuals should visit the official registration portal and complete their application before the deadline.

This initiative is a major opportunity for Nigerians looking to develop real, marketable skills for completely free. Whether you’re a graduate, school leaver, or someone looking to learn a trade or start a business, the RHEI is designed to help you build a path to sustainable income and independence.
