Reno Omokri, a former aide to the president, has asserted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s congratulatory message to Morocco caused it to lose to France.
Goldennewsng reports that Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, released a statement in which he thanked the Moroccan national football team for defeating the Portuguese and progressing to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Additionally, he stated that the Atlas Lions could win the tournament.
The former aide to the president argued that Buhari did not have the right to congratulate Morocco prior to their match against France.
Omokri implied that Buhari’s congratulatory message might have a negative impact on the African team.
