The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) on Thursday suspended the nationwide industrial action.

Following the report, GoldenNewsNg further gathered that the Resident Doctors has reach agreement with Federal Government After extensive deliberations, understandings were reached on each of their demands.

NARD union stated that the strike is coming on the heels of the inability of the Federal Government to meet its demands since the month of june 2020.
During the strike,
The Federal Government through the mouth piece of the Honourable minister of Health directed the Chief Medical Directors and Managing Directors of federal tertiary hospitals to “immediately” commence the use of consultants and doctors on the National Youth Service Corps to provide routine services.
Adding that , “lt is with deep concern that l view the ongoing strike by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors which commenced yesterday (Tuesday) September 7, 2020.
“We must remember that the primary duty of doctors and all health workers is to save lives. Embarking on a strike in this time that the country is battling with the COVlD-19 pandemic is ill-timed and ill-advised.

Aliyu Sokumba who is the President of NARD made this known on Thursday evening.
Dr Sokumba said the union will review the progress made in talks with the Federal Government in two weeks.
