According to Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, the story of Mohbad and Wunmi’s relationship began at Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label. He shared that Mohbad and Wunmi met at the record label, which served as the backdrop for their romantic journey.

Describing Mohbad as a humble and modest man, Aloba revealed that the two had actually known each other since they were children in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos. To shed light on their story, Aloba referred to a song titled “Komajensun” that Mohbad performed in 2020. In the song, there is a lyric that goes, “Naira lo gbe omo fun mi, I’m not a womaniser,” which hints at how Mohbad reconnected with Wunmi at Marlian Records.

“He (Mohbad) met the lady (Wunmi) there (at Marlian Music), but they had known each other from Oke-Iletu, even though the lady was a student then,” Aloba disclosed during the interview.
