GoldenNewsNg gathered that Ritman University, located in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, has announced openings for qualified educators to serve as Assistant Lecturers under its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme.

The institution, a recognized affiliate of JUPEB, has consistently presented students for the Board’s examinations over the years. In its statement, the university emphasized its commitment to preparing students thoroughly to excel in the JUPEB exams and secure Direct Entry admission into 200-level in their preferred disciplines at accredited Nigerian universities.

As part of its efforts to maintain the quality of instruction and mentorship within its JUPEB programme, Ritman University is inviting applications from qualified individuals who possess the academic competence, teaching skillset, and passion for grooming pre-degree students.

Subject Areas Open for Recruitment

Qualified applicants are being sought for the following subject areas:

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • Biology

  • Literature

  • Economics

  • Christian Religious Studies (CRS)

  • Business Studies

  • Government

Successful applicants will take on the role of Assistant Lecturers and be involved in all aspects of instruction, mentorship, and academic guidance related to the JUPEB programme.

Key Responsibilities

JUPEB tutors at Ritman University are expected to engage in the following academic and institutional duties:

  1. Deliver classroom teaching using approved JUPEB syllabuses with a student-centered approach.

  2. Administer Continuous Assessment (CA) tests, quizzes, and monitor student progress throughout the academic session.

  3. Participate in structured mentoring and coaching aimed at enhancing teaching methodology and academic research.

  4. Maintain strict adherence to the content and structure of the official JUPEB curriculum.

  5. Ensure accurate record keeping, including daily class attendance and student participation.

  6. Offer support during tutorial sessions and subject-related practicals where applicable.

  7. Contribute to the university’s community service efforts as required.

  8. Carry out any additional academic or administrative tasks as may be assigned by the university management.

Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates are expected to meet the following academic and professional requirements:

  1. Possess a good First Degree (at least Second Class Upper Division) and a Master’s Degree in any of the listed subject areas or closely related disciplines.

  2. Candidates with a B.Ed. or M.Ed. degree are strongly encouraged to apply and must be duly registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

  3. Have a minimum of two (2) years post-graduation experience teaching in a recognized educational institution, preferably at a post-secondary level.

Applications must include:

  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) clearly stating the applicant’s educational background, teaching experience, and other relevant information.

  • Photocopies of academic credentials, including degree certificates and professional registrations.

  • A cover letter stating the subject applied for and the position Assistant Lecturer (JUPEB).

In addition, each applicant must list the names and contact details of three referees, who are to send confidential reference letters directly to:

Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Referees are to indicate the full name of the candidate in their submissions.
