In the midst of the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, asserted on Saturday that the true leaders in politics will be revealed in due time. Wike made these remarks during a visit to Victor Giadom, the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his residence in Bera, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Wike dismissed what he referred to as “hungry noisemakers on the road,” emphasizing that when the political time arrives, the authority figures will be evident. He expressed his indifference to online criticism and social media chatter, stating that true political influence is not determined through online platforms. Wike emphasized that politics has its timing, and the people’s belief in the leaders is not swayed by social media campaigns.
Regarding his association with Victor Giadom, Wike highlighted the enduring nature of friendships beyond political affiliations, acknowledging past mistakes but emphasizing the permanence of human connections.
Wike’s visit and statements come against the backdrop of political tensions and crises in Rivers State, with the minister suggesting that the resolution and unfolding of political dynamics will occur in due course.
