  • Direct Entry Candidates: Candidates with A’level (OND/HND/NCE/JUPEB) qualifications, who chose RSU as their first/second choice institution or are seeking a change of institution to RSU through JAMB, and have obtained the 2023 Direct Entry JAMB form.

Note: Only candidates who chose Rivers State University through JAMB and have their details appearing on the University profile on the JAMB CAPS will be considered for admission. If you did not choose Rivers State University but would like to study there, you can purchase a change of institution form and switch to Rivers State University.

Rivers State University Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates

  • Candidates must obtain a minimum of 5 Credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and any other 3 subjects related to the chosen course.
  • To determine the subjects related to your course of choice, you can search for the correct subject combination for the specific course.

Rivers State University Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (Diploma, ND, and HND)

  • The requirements for direct entry candidates are not significantly different from UTME candidates. They must also obtain a minimum of 5 credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and any other 3 subjects relevant to their chosen course.
  • Direct entry candidates interested in gaining admission into RSUST are required to have a minimum of Upper Credit in their ND or HND.
  • Direct entry candidates may also be required to participate in the post-UTME screening, especially when transferring from other institutions such as polytechnics or colleges of education.

How to Apply for RSU Post-UTME Form

  • Visit the admission portal at www.rsu.edu.ng and make an e-payment of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) using Interswitch Verve-enabled cards. For further information, candidates are encouraged to use the online chat support. Follow these steps:
    1. Visit https://rsu.edu.ng and click on “Applications.”
    2. Click on the program “REGULAR” under the application name “2023/2024 POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE FOR ADMISSION.”
    3. Click on “BUY PIN,” enter your name, email, and phone number, then click on “Pay with Pay Panel.” Note that you should provide your personal phone number and email address.
    4. Click on “Continue,” select the payment method (options available are Payment Using Debit Card and Bank Branch), and click on “Continue to Payment.”
    5. Enter your debit card details and complete the payment.
    6. A PIN will be displayed and sent to your email.
    7. Enter the PIN in the PIN section of the application and click on “Start Application.”
    8. Follow the application process to the end and print out your Screening Exercise Slip.
    9. Applicants should have all the required information, such as JAMB Registration Number, O’level Results, and Personal Data, ready for the application.

Important Notice

  • Candidates should ensure that they provide accurate details during the application for the Post-UTME Screening test.
  • The screening exercise will be conducted electronically, so it is essential for candidates to practice using computers, especially mouse and keyboard skills.
  • The screening test will take place at the Information Communication and Technology Centre (ICTC) of the University. Candidates must adhere to the specified time and date on their screening test slip, as no candidates will be allowed after the scheduled date of examinations.

RSU Post-UTME Screening Requirements

The screening exercise will be conducted for all UTME/Direct Entry candidates at the Information Communication and Technology Centre (ICTC) of the University. Candidates are advised to take note of the scheduled date for the screening exercise as indicated on the screening exercise slip they printed after online registration.

Candidates who fail to take the screening test on the scheduled date and time will not be given special consideration.
