In todays latest SASSA Grant payment News – A new month is just around the corner which means Sassa grants will be distributed to beneficiaries. Here is when beneficiaries may collect their September Sassa grant payments.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the payment dates for its social grants. These payment dates do not include the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
SRD grant payments do not have fixed payment dates, which means that beneficiaries will need to wait to receive communication that their payment is ready before visiting paypoints, such as retail stores or ATMs, before collecting their grant.
Grants are paid to recipients on the 2nd day of every month, however, payments are not made on weekends. Here are the September Sassa grant payment dates:
- Older person’s grant: Friday 2 September
- This includes any grants linked to this account
- Disability grant: Monday 5 September
- This includes any grants linked to this account
- Rest of the Sassa grants: Tuesday 6 September
The agency continues to remind grant recipients that they do not need to rush to withdraw their grant on the day their payment becomes available. Recipients are reassured that their grants will remain in their accounts until the day they decide to collect them.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to wait a couple of days before collecting their grant payments to avoid standing in long queues at paypoints to collect their grant. However, it is understandable if beneficiaries do not have the luxury of waiting a few days for their payments as it is clear that they may be in need of the money as soon as it becomes available.
Sassa grants may be collected at bank ATMs when using Sassa gold cards. Grant recipients are reminded that they should make use of the alternative paypoints instead of the Post Office.
These paypoints include:
- Shoprite
- PicknPay
- USave
- Checkers
- Boxer Stores.
