Manchester United have been told they should have used the money spent to sign on Jadon Sancho to buy Harry Kane instead.

The Red Devils have shown plenty of ambition this summer and are set to announce the deal for England star Sancho imminently.

That will set them back £73million, while they’ve also been linked with a big-money move for Raphael Varane.

However, all that cash has been spent in the wrong area, according to Scott Minto.

Minto told Kick Off he feels the money would have been better spent on signing Spurs forward Kane.

Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool defender Nat Phillips this summer.

The 24-year-old looks set to be surplus to requirements this summer following the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, plus the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

Brighton, Burnley, Newcastle and West Ham are thought to be interested after Phillips stepped up during the Reds’ injury crisis last season.

According to Sky Sports News, Leverkusen could offer the Englishman a return to the Bundesliga, where he spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Stuttgart.
