Report has it that Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of the sum of N7.3 billion for the remaining beneficiaries of the 774,000 Special Public Works Programme.

In the first week of December 2021, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment,  Keyamo had announced that the remaining beneficiaries of the programme would be paid during the budget defence organized by the Senate Committee on Labour and Employment for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs.

Meanwhile, Keyamo had blamed the delay on banks, noting that the federal government is committed to fixing the bottlenecks before the end of the year.

The Minister promised that he would ensure that the funds were disbursed before the end of December 2021. The SPW scheme, which was launched in 2019 is expected to pay beneficiaries the sum of N20,000 a month for three months (totaling N60,000).

All those who applied for the programme should check their SMS inbox for alert.

Banks Begins Distribution of ATM Cards to SPW Beneficiaries

The Federal Government 774, 000 Special Public Works Programme has commenced fully, volunteers of the Special Public Works Programme will be compensated based on the agreed amount as stipulated on the agreement

Meaning, each local government will be entitled to 1000 slot, and of cause, states like Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Sokoto, Lagos, Benue, Anambra, etc will get a large chunk of the job

With the Special Public Works Programme in full force, the authorized banks have started issuing the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) for all applicants

Authorized Banks To Collect ATM Cards

Six (6) Banks have been authorized to give ATMs to all applicants of the Special Public Works Programme, these banks include:

Access Bank,

Fidelity Bank,

First City Monument Bank (FCMB)

Heritage Bank Plc,

Zenith Bank,

United Bank for Africa (UBA),

Beneficiaries of the SPW Programme are advised to go to any of the banks assigned to his/her LGA for SPW ATM card collection
