Report has it that Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of the sum of N7.3 billion for the remaining beneficiaries of the 774,000 Special Public Works Programme.
In the first week of December 2021, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Keyamo had announced that the remaining beneficiaries of the programme would be paid during the budget defence organized by the Senate Committee on Labour and Employment for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs.
Meanwhile, Keyamo had blamed the delay on banks, noting that the federal government is committed to fixing the bottlenecks before the end of the year.
The Minister promised that he would ensure that the funds were disbursed before the end of December 2021. The SPW scheme, which was launched in 2019 is expected to pay beneficiaries the sum of N20,000 a month for three months (totaling N60,000).
