Standard Chartered Bank is inviting applications for its 2024 Graduate Programme in Investment Banking in Nigeria. The Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking (CCIB) division provides a platform for individuals to be more innovative, empowered, and impactful in their careers. With over 160 years of experience, the bank offers world-class financing, investment, treasury, and strategic advisory services.

About the Programme:
The 18-month graduate programme aims to launch participants into a global banking career. The induction phase includes interactions with peers and senior executives, building networks crucial for career growth. The training programme focuses on developing technical, business, and interpersonal skills through real-world simulations and case studies. Future skill development is a priority as the bank is committed to changing the way banking works for the better.

Roles:
Graduates in Investment Banking will be involved in hands-on activities from day one, contributing to research, financial modelling, valuation, and preparation of investment materials. They will support senior bankers in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and industry teams, gaining expertise in cross-border deals. Key responsibilities include executing corporate finance transactions, developing financial models, preparing presentation materials, contributing to origination and execution of transactions, researching and benchmarking, and providing project management support.

Eligibility:

  • Students from all degree disciplines are welcome.
  • Team players with excellent academic achievements and extracurricular activities are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to handle pressure, analytical minds with numeracy and attention to detail, and adept at building relationships are desired qualities.
  • Technical positions are suitable for individuals with proficiency in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics.
  • Final year students with the ability to start in July 2024.
  • Permanent legal right to work in the country of application.

Exceptions:

  • For the UK and UAE, candidates requiring visa sponsorship will be considered.
  • In the UAE, priority is given to UAE nationals.
  • For US Graduate roles, applicants seeking Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) employment will not be considered.
