Tatjana Patitz, one of the first supermodels, has passed away at the age of 56 after losing her battle with breast cancer.
Goldennewsng reports that Insider received confirmation from her agent that she had passed away on Wednesday morning in Santa Barbara, California.
On the cover of British Vogue in 1990, the Hamburg-born Patitz appeared alongside Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford.
It was one of Edward Enninful’s top ten British Vogue covers of all time and has since become one of fashion’s most well-known images. In the same month that the well-known Peter Lindbergh group shot was published, Patitz appeared on her own US Vogue cover.
She was married to Jason Johnson for six years. In November 2004, the two of them had a son together named Jonah, whom she refers to as her “source of happiness.”
