Surprise As Nigerian Man Wins N1million Grant He Didn’t Apply For
A Nigerian man, Tunde Onakoya has announced that his firm, Chess In Slums Africa, won a grant of N1million which he did not apply for.
Chess In Slums Africa, helps kids living in slums by taking them off the street and teaching them the game.
They are then enrolled in chess tournaments across Nigeria and Africa.
According to Tunde, his company got nominated by an unknown person for a Price Waterhouse Coopers grant which it eventually won.
He shared a photo of him holding the dud n1m cheque and wrote;
”Apparently, someone nominated us for @PwC_Nigeria’s annual charity grant and there was even a voting phase that we won”.
”I didn’t even know all of this was going on till I got a call two days ago to come pick up a million naira cheque at Landmark towers this morning
For everyone who continue to speak for us even in rooms where we’re absent, thank you.”
