The IGP Has Ordered The Deployment Of CPs To State Commands
There’s a major shake-up In Police following the IGP order for the immediate deployment of CPs to State Commands.
According to Goldennewsng, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba has initiated a major shake-up within the police force by ordering the immediate deployment of Commissioners of Police to State Commands, as recommended by the Police Service Commission (PSC). The Senior Police Officers have been instructed by the IGP to take charge of their respective offices and execute the policing agenda of the Force leadership without delay.
The 12 Newly Appointed Commissioners of Police
- CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel – Kano State Command
- CP Haruna Gabriel Garba – FCT Command Abuja
- CP Tajudeen A. Abass – Delta State Command
- CP Oladimeji Yomi Olarewaju – Ogun State Command
- CP Taiwo Jesubiyi – Ondo State Command
- CP Julius A. Okoro – Benue State Command
- CP Romokere Ibiani – Bayelsa State Command
- CP Mohammed Bunu – Yobe State Command
- CP Garba Musa Yusuf – Kaduna State Command
- CP Garba Ahmed – Zamfara State Command

Details of the Newly Appointed Commissioners of Police
- CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel – With over 30 years of experience in the Nigerian Police Force, CP Gumel is a seasoned law enforcement officer. Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
- CP Haruna Gabriel Garba – CP Garba has served in various capacities within the Nigerian Police Force, including as the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State. He has a wealth of experience in policing and has been commended for his dedication to duty.
- CP Tajudeen A. Abass – CP Abass is a seasoned police officer with over 25 years of experience in the force. Before his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, he served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Counter-Terrorism Unit at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
- CP Oladimeji Yomi Olarewaju – CP Olarewaju is a highly experienced police officer with over 28 years of service in the force. Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Oyo State Command.
- CP Taiwo Jesubiyi – With over 27 years of experience in the Nigerian Police Force, CP Jesubiyi has served in various capacities within the force. Before his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
- CP Julius A. Okoro – CP Okoro is a highly experienced police officer with over 30 years of service in the force. Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Benue State, he served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Anti-Fraud Unit at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
- CP Romokere Ibiani – CP Ibiani is a seasoned law enforcement officer with over 26 years of experience in the Nigerian Police Force. Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
- CP Mohammed Bunu – With over 28 years of experience in the Nigerian Police Force, CP Bunu has served in various capacities within the force. Before his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in Yobe State, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in chargeAs per the statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi , the IGP has instructed the Senior Police Officers to ensure that professionalism and respect for fundamental rights are embedded in all officers and men under their supervision. He has also urged them to prioritize community-oriented policing in their respective jurisdictions to provide modern, technology-based, and people-oriented policing services on all fronts. These instructions are based on the recent training for Strategic Police Managers held at the Nigeria Institute of Police Studies (NIPS), Jabi, Abuja.
