The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo has berated some television anchors over their comments on the controversy surrounding the certificate of President Bola Tinubu.
In a post via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Keyamo said the level of illiteracy displayed by some television anchors in the country on the controversy surrounding the academic records of President Tnubu is stunning.
Keyamo argued that the Chicago State University (CSU) has not denied the authenticity of the certificate being paraded by Tinubu nor is there any forensic report that the certificate is fake or altered.
The minister said his tweet in 2019 on the certificate controversy of former President Muhamamdu Buhari would have been applicable if CSU admitted that it issued the replacement certificate and denied its authenticity.
He wrote: “The level of illiteracy displayed by some of our TV anchors is stunning. I listened to one in particular this morning that kept repeating ‘when the supposed author of a document denies ever making it…’ as if that phrase or sentence is germane to the issue of Chicago State University at hand.
“This my 2019 tweet below 👇 would have been applicable IF CSU HAD ADMITTED THAT THEY ISSUE REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES THEMSELVES AND THEN GO ON TO DENY EVER ISSUING THIS PARTICULAR ONE.
“But this did not happen! So, their comments or testimony or anything at all they say about THAT CERTIFICATE (which is a replacement certificate) IS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO PROVE FORGERY.”
