The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kani, condemned the appointment of Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff (CoAS).
Goldennewsng reports that President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed Farouk Yahaya as the new COAS.
He replaces Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in a military plane crash in Kaduna last Friday.
Prior to his appointment Major General Yahaya was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and the incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counterterrorism Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code-named Operation HADIN KAI.
Yahaya who is from Zamfara State is married and blessed with children. He belongs to the Regular Course 37.
But reacting in a post on his Twitter page on Thursday evening, the IPOB leader stated that he was ashamed with the latest appointment.
Nnamdi Kanu wondered why every security position must be occupied by Fulani under the administration of Buhari.
He wrote: “This is how they roll. Quite frankly, they don’t give a damn.
“Every security position MUST be occupied by a #Fulani or a #Fulani.
“All of you sophisticated morons, grammarians and multi-purpose Efulefus from the South yapping about one Nigeria, your shame is shaming me.”
