1. CBN Reduces Monetary Policy Rate To 11.5%
The Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN ) has reduced the Monetary Policy Rate from 12.5 per cent to 11.5 per cent.
Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele announced this on Tuesday while presenting a communiqué after the two-day Monetary Policy Committee Meeting in Abuja.
The MPC, however, opted to retain the Cash Reserve Ratio at 27.5 per cent and the liquidity ratio at 30 per cent. Read More Here

The Aslem Ojezua-led faction of the Edo All Progressives Congress, APC, has dispelled rumour that plans are underway to expel Adams Oshiomhole, a former National Chairman of the party from the party.

The Court of Appeal of Nigeria has established the Election Petition Tribunal and also constituted a panel in respect of the Governorship Election conducted in Edo State.
The panel was set up by the President, Court of Appeal of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Monica Dongban – Mensem.
This was announced in a statement signed on Tuesday by Secretary of the Court, Sunday Martins.

8. Ondo Election: Primate Ayodele Reveals Why Akeredolu, APC Will Lose In Ondo Governorship Polls
Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Ayodele, has predicted another loss for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
According to Ayodele in a statement on Tuesday, September 22, the people of Ondo State has rejected Rotimi Akeredolu and Nigeria’s ruling party, hence, they will lose in the governorship polls scheduled for Saturday, October 10.
Ayodele who recently claimed that his prophecy confirmed Governor Godwin Obaseki’s win in the just concluded governorship election in Edo StateGovernor Godwin Obaseki’s win in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State said that Akeredolu will not win in Ondo except the process is manipulated.
The cleric said, “Rotimi Akeredolu will not win Ondo election except through manipulations and technicality, He must not underrate anybody, the candidate of the PDP, Eyitayo Jegede and ZLP, Agboola Ajayi are out to beat him.”
Ayodele warned Akeredolu to be careful because he will be betrayed, adding that there are moles in his camp.
The clergy stressed further that the people of Ondo state have rejected Akeredolu, adding that no matter the crowd he has now, they won’t give him victory except he manipulate.
“He should wake up, strategize and right his wrongs if he wants to win or else, He will lose gallantly except through manipulations”, Ayodele predicted.
9. COVID19: Premier League Speaks On Fans Returning To Stadiums
Premier League has broken silence on fans returning to stadium amidst coronavirus restrictions in the United Kingdom.
Premier League says it is “disappointed that the safe return of supporters to matches has been postponed,” following the latest COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the UK Government.
The planned return of fans to sports venues in England from October 1 could be delayed for up to six months, amid fears over a second wave.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday, announced restrictions in the House of Commons, including those related to mass gatherings.
Johnson said: “We have to acknowledge that the spread of the virus is now affecting our ability to reopen business conferences, exhibitions and large sporting events.
“So we will not be able to do this from October 1 and I recognise the implications for our sports clubs which are the life and soul of our communities, and my right honourable friends the Chancellor and the Culture Secretary are working urgently on what we can do now to support them.
10. ICPC To Prosecute NECO Staff For Alleged Possession Of Fake Certificates
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is set to prosecute some staff of the National Examination Council (NECO) for allegedly possessing fake certificates.
The move to prosecute the affected staff followed a request by the Registrar of NECO, Professor Godswill Obioma during a recent courtesy visit to the Commission.
This was disclosed in a statement signed on Tuesday by the spokesperson for the Commission, Azuka C. Ogugua.
“Professor Obioma, at the meeting with ICPC Chairman, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, and other top management staff of the Commission, mentioned that the governing council of NECO had through a staff verification exercise, found that some staff were working in the agency with fake certificates.
“He urged ICPC to act on the report of the exercise which had been submitted to the Commission saying, “We want your office to do justice to the report especially those culpable for prosecution,” the statement read in part.
