1. Oil marketers, on Friday, said the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit, known as petrol, was still problematic but expressed confidence that queues for the product at filling stations would soon disappear. According to them, the depot price of PMS for marketers moving their products out of Lagos had jumped to N246 per litre.

2. Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, yesterday, described the 48 hours ultimatum by the Department of State Service (DSS) to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to make fuel available across the country as empty threats. Falana who spoke during an interview said the DSS does not operate under the law in Nigeria.

3. Brazil was yesterday eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after they lost in a penalty shoot-out to Croatia on Friday. The Selecao came in the first quarter-final tie as hot favourites, having seen off South Korea 4-1 in the previous round.

4. Labour Party has sacked its National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, and dissolved the Ogun State chapter executives of the party for alleged anti-party practices. This is coming amid an internal crisis rocking the party.

5. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has accused Godwin Emefiele, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor of targeting the political class with the cash withdrawal limit policy. Fintiri said having lost out in his bid to join the political class, Emefiele chose to hunt politicians.

6. Bandits on Thursday night abducted the family of the lawmaker representing Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara at the State Assembly. The lawmaker identified as Yusuf Ardo was not around when the armed men stormed his residence in Jangebe community.

7. Three people were reportedly burnt to death by suspected armed bandits after a midnight attack in Pobawure and Amtawalam communities in Billiri Local Government Area (LGA) of Gombe State. Residents said the attackers invaded the two communities at midnight, while they were asleep, and went on a rampage, setting houses and stocked food items ablaze.

8. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his colleagues, Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) have been conferred with honorary doctorate degrees by the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, a foremost Anglican University in Nigeria.

9. Anambra State Government has dismissed the report that gunmen attacked a hospital in Nkpologwu community in Aguata Local Government Area of the state and stole four newborn babies. Commissioner for Information in the state, Sir Paul Nwosu, in a statement, said such an incident never happened.

10. The Central Bank of Nigeria on Friday disclosed that about N1 trillion has been deposited in commercial banks as Nigerians get set to receive the newly redesigned naira notes by December 15. CBN Governor, Emefiele made the disclosure in Abuja, after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on the latest developments in the economy.
