Below are the Nigerian Newspaper headlines & Naija news today from Nigerian newspapers.

Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers:

1. The deposed Emir of Kano and vice chairman, Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, Lamido Sanusi, yesterday, expressed his compassion for the next president that will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari due to the depleted state of the economy. He said Nigeria’s economy has been tied to the oil and gas sector and subsidy removal is fast mitigating the economy’s growth.

2. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and three of his southern counterparts have for the sixth time embarked on a foreign trip, this time to Spain. The other governors on the latest trip are Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Samuel Ortom (Benue), all of the Peoples Democratic Party.

3. A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced a 31-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Bashiru Azeez, to six months imprisonment over $9,891 fraud. Justice Adebayo Yusuf handed down the sentence while ruling on a fraud case instituted by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

4. A suspected drug addict, Abdulafeez Shorinmade, has been arrested by men of the Osun State Police Command in Iwo, after stabbing to death one Rofiyat Rasaki at Kajola area of the town. Abdulafeez, who was said to have fled the scene after committing the crime, also allegedly stabbed and injured an 18-year-old Sawiyu Nasrup, at Soba Area also in Iwo.

5. Terrorists, in the early hours of Saturday, killed two locals at Gidan Diyam and also kidnapped two others in Dayi community under Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State. A building material seller, Ejike Hyginus, popularly referred to as ‘Yellow’, and one Mustapha, a health worker attached to the Dayi Primary Healthcare, were also kidnapped.

6. The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has vowed to fight bandits if elected in 2023. Speaking at the 7th edition of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit, Tinubu said he is confident of leading the country.

7. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, said those from the North don’t need candidates from the South during the 2023 elections. Atiku stated this while responding to a question posed to him by the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, during an Interactive Session With Arewa Joint Committee held on Saturday in Kaduna State.

8. There is still anxiety and apprehension in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after the two crucial meetings by the party’s major stakeholders failed to address several teething issues impeding the kick-off of its presidential campaign more than two weeks after lifting the ban on political campaigns.

9. Natives and residents of Akpawfu community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State were yesterday thrown into deep fear and tension as the area came under heavy bombardments following alleged raiding by troops of secret camps of suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members and armed bandits in the community.

10. A man has died during sex, while another committed suicide in different locations of Lagos. It was gathered that a male guest at an inn in the Adeniji Adele area of the State, had lodged in company with a lady for a short time service. According to a worker at the hotel, the lovers ordered drinks and locked themselves inside the room making love, but after one hour, the lady came out and pretended that she was going to buy something outside the hotel.
