Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham has shared a photo on her Instagram handle which suggested how she reacted after many people went about their normal businesses on Monday after the federal government lifted the lock down imposed in the country.
The government had decided to impose a lock down in major cities and states in the country after a number of Covid19 cases were confirmed in the country. It made many people to cry out that the hardship was too much since there was no food or money because people’s means of livelihood were affected.
Pressure has been on the government and corporate bodies to support those in need and it seemed that the government may not cope with that so it decided to end lock down and allow the citizens to face the dangers involved.
That why was when Mercy Aigbe saw many people in the streets gathering in large crowds, she was shocked because they did not adhere to any safety guideline. There are fears that community transmission of covid19 has increased at a rate that can overwhelm the healthcare system in Nigeria.
Her reaction was one of shock and surprise and a feeling that many people in Nigeria do not really know how dangerous the pandemic is.
