The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially announced the commencement of online registration for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise, granting admission to various courses and programs.

The screening exercise for the 2023/2024 admission session is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 10, and will conclude on Friday, July 28.

In a statement issued on Monday, Ọladẹjọ Azeez, the registrar and secretary to the council of UNILAG, provided the necessary information.

According to Azeez, candidates must have selected the University of Lagos as their first choice in the 2023/2024 UTME and obtained a minimum score of 200 to be eligible for screening.

Additionally, candidates must have achieved five credit passes in relevant O/level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in a single sitting.

To be considered for admission, candidates must upload their O/Level results on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before Sunday, August 13.

Azeez emphasized that applicants who have not attained the age of sixteen by Tuesday, October 31, are ineligible to apply. He further stated that candidates who do not participate in the Post-UTME Screening will not be considered for admission.

Former students of the university whose admissions were revoked due to poor academic performance or absence may reapply. However, they must enroll in a new program/course different from their previous one.

It is important to note that any student previously expelled from the University will not be granted fresh admission.

The screening fee for the exercise is set at ₦2,000. Eligible candidates should visit the University of Lagos website (www.unilag.edu.ng) to complete the registration process.

The post-UTME online aptitude test will take place from Monday, July 31, to Friday, August 4.

Azeez urged candidates to strictly adhere to the guidelines and seek necessary clarifications. He emphasized that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy for drug abuse, and any newly admitted student who tests positive for drug use, whether before or after registration, will have their admission revoked.

Eligibility Criteria for Prospective Candidates:

The screening exercise is open to candidates who selected the University of Lagos as their first choice in the 2023/2024 UTME and scored 200 and above. Additionally, candidates must have obtained five (5) credit passes at one sitting in relevant O/level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Note: Only candidates who have uploaded their O’Level results on JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before 13th August 2023 will be considered for admission. Candidates below the age of sixteen (16) as of 31st October 2023 are not eligible to apply. Candidates who fail to participate in the Post-UTME Screening will not be considered for admission.

Former students of the University who had their admissions withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence status may re-apply. However, the new admission must be for a different programme/course. Expelled students will not be offered fresh admission under any circumstances.

Registration Details:

  • Screening Fee: ₦2,000
  • Registration Dates: July 10th to July 28th, 2023
  • Post-UTME Test Dates: July 31st to August 4th, 2023

How to Apply for UNILAG Post UTME Form:

  1. Visit the University of Lagos website at https://www.unilag.edu.ng.
  2. Click on “Admissions.”
  3. Select “Start Fresh Application.”
  4. Choose “Undergraduate Application.”
  5. Login with your UTME number as the username and lowercase surname as the password.
  6. Generate and print the payment advice.
  7. Make the payment at any commercial bank or pay online.
  8. Return to the Application portal on the University website.
  9. Click on “Continue Application” to complete the admission screening form.
  10. Click on “Preview” to verify the correctness of the supplied data.
  11. Click on “Submit” to complete the application.

Online Post-UTME Test:

The online Post-UTME aptitude test will take place from Monday, 31st July to Friday, 4th August 2023. Candidates are advised to adequately prepare for this important test, as their performance will significantly impact their admission prospects.
