Italian Serie A side, Napoli have reportedly shortlisted Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface as a potential replacement for his colleague Victor Osimhen.
Napoli are said to preparing for life after Victor Osimhen. The performance of the 24-year-old Nigerian forward has attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
recalls that Osimhen has scored a whopping 25 goals and provided 5 assists in 29 games in all competitions for the Italian club.
Hence, European heavyweights like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and even star-studded PSG are said to be interested in the Nigeria international.
Though Napoli have said countlessly that Osimhen is not for sale, it is expected that the club would let him go this summer especially if he helps them to win the Italian Serie A title which they are on the verge of winning.
In preparation for whatever might happen in the summer, the Italian side have been scouting Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise striker Victor Boniface according to Belgian publication Nieuwsblad.
Boniface is a 22-year-old striker who joined the Belgian side last summer from Bodo/Glimt for just €2 million.
In the 2022-2023 season, Boniface has scored 19 goals and has provided eight assists in 43 appearances for Saint-Gilloise in all competitions which is a mind-blowing stat for a 22-year-old youngster.
Reports in Belgium claimed that Saint-Gilloise has placed a price tag as low as €10 million on the youngster which makes it even easier for Napoli which bought Osimhen for over €75 million less than two seasons ago.
A note from Nieuwsblad reads, “After Milan and Napoli, who have already seen him several times, Lazio also like the Union Saint-Gilloise striker. The Biancocelesti are interested in the striker born in 2000, who has a contract until 2026 with the Belgian club and a price of around €10m.”
