YEIDEP Grant Hits 4.6 Million Applicants – Apply Before May 31, 2025 Deadline

Following the YEIDEP Latest news, GoldenNewsNg reports that Interest in the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) continues to surge as over 4.6 million Nigerian youths have officially registered for the federal government-backed initiative.

According to the Ministry of Youth Development, a total of 4,638,431 applications have been received as of May 5th 2025. The scheme, which aims to empower young Nigerians through grants, training, and mentorship, remains open for fresh applications until May 31, 2025.

This overwhelming number reflects just how eager many Nigerian youths are to escape unemployment and economic hardship. In many communities, word has spread quickly about YEIDEP, with applicants seeing it as a real shot at building a better future.

A senior official at the Ministry told GoldenNewsNG that while the high number of applicants is encouraging, there’s still room for more:

“We’re excited by the turnout, but the portal is still open. We want more young people, especially those in underserved areas, to take advantage of this opportunity before it closes.”

What Is YEIDEP All About?

YEIDEP was introduced to tackle youth unemployment, crime, and social instability by offering direct support to those aged 18 to 35. Through a combination of vocational training, business support, mentorship, and non-repayable grants, the initiative is helping young Nigerians take charge of their lives.

Whether you’re a small-scale entrepreneur, fresh graduate, or someone with a business idea but no capital, YEIDEP is designed to support your journey.

Why You Shouldn’t Wait

Still haven’t applied? Here’s why you should consider it now:

  • Free to apply — no hidden fees or charges

  • Accessible to all states — open to both urban and rural applicants

  • Business and skill training tailored to modern industries

  • Grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 to kickstart or grow your hustle

  • Mentorship to guide you through challenges

The application process is straightforward, and everything is done online through the official YEIDEP website.

Here’s the Official Timeline After Application Closes

To keep applicants in the loop, the Ministry has released a full schedule of what happens next:

Activity Date
Application Deadline May 31, 2025
Collation of Beneficiaries’ Accounts June 1 – June 8, 2025
Engagement with Selected Beneficiaries June 11 – June 30, 2025
Disbursement of Grants (Batch A) July 1 – July 31, 2025

So once applications close at the end of May, the government will move quickly to verify account details, engage successful applicants, and begin the first round of disbursements in July.

Final Word from GoldenNewsNG

YEIDEP is shaping up to be one of the most impactful youth programs in Nigeria’s recent history just like NPower. With millions already on board, it’s clear the message is resonating: young Nigerians are tired of waiting and they’re ready to work for it.

If you’re between 18 and 35 and haven’t applied yet, this is your call to action. Visit the official YEIDEP portal or head to your nearest youth development office to get started.
