Following the YEIDEP Latest news, GoldenNewsNgreports that Interest in the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) continues to surge as over 5.1 million Nigerian youths have officially registered for the federal government-backed initiative.

This overwhelming number reflects just how eager many Nigerian youths are to escape unemployment and economic hardship. In many communities, word has spread quickly about YEIDEP, with applicants seeing it as a real shot at building a better future.

A senior official at the Ministry told GoldenNewsNG that while the high number of applicants is encouraging, there’s still room for more:

“We’re excited by the turnout, but the portal is still open. We want more young people, especially those in underserved areas, to take advantage of this opportunity before it closes.”

What is YEIDEP?

This program was specially created to help young people in Nigeria who are going through tough times. Many of them dropped out of school, are jobless, or have been involved in violence or crime because they had no other option. YEIDEP was designed to give these youths real help—training, funding, and a new mindset.

It is not only a program where you learn business. You also learn how to think differently. You grow personally, emotionally, and socially.

This is why the program is getting so much attention. It is not just a “youth empowerment” program. It is a full restart for young people who want to improve.

31st May 2025 Is the Final Deadline

The official last date to register for YEIDEP 2025 is Friday, 31st May 2025.

There is no news yet if the date will be extended. So don’t assume it will be. Government programs like this are very strict with deadlines. Once it closes, you may have to wait till next year.

The earlier you apply, the better your chances of being selected in the early batch of training and funding.

What Are the Benefits of Joining YEIDEP?

The program is fully packed with value. Once you are selected, you can enjoy the following:

  • Free business skills training in your local area
  • Access to startup capital or business grants
  • Mentorship by experienced professionals
  • Life skills and mental development sessions
  • Opportunity to work with government or private firms after training
  • Help to start your own business or join cooperatives
  • Peacebuilding and mindset change workshops for those affected by conflict or violence
  • Support for returnees and former youth offenders
  • A strong community of youth moving towards the same goal

These benefits are not just for a few. Once registered and selected, you will be grouped and trained in stages. Every region is involved, and the program is inclusive of both urban and rural youth.

Who Can Apply?

  • Young Nigerians aged 18 to 35 years
  • Must be willing to learn and attend training
  • Unemployed or underemployed youth
  • Youths affected by violence, poverty, or social risk
  • Returnees who need help to re-integrate
  • Youths who want to start small businesses or join cooperatives
