Yoruba Nation President Prof. Akintoye Resigns

Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide’s leader in the Yoruba self-determination struggle, Prof. Banji Akintoye, has resigned.

Goldennewsng reports that Tunde Amusat, the group’s General Secretary, made the following statement on Thursday, December 22: “Akintoye handed over leadership to his former Deputy, Prof. Wale Adeniran.”

As Akintoye’s reasons, Amusat cited old age and a weak body system.

Amusat stated that the group accepted Akintoye’s resignation and confirmed Adeniran as the new leader at the worldwide congress of Ilana Omo Oodua on December 17, 2022.
