Young Voices Empowerment Programme – Applications now open for 2023
Applications are now open for the 2023 ‘Open Minds – Young Voices’ Youth Activists Programme! This programme aims to empower young, motivated, and proactive Nigerians who are actively working and advocating for social justice, good governance, and possess exceptional leadership potential. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on socio-economic and political issues in Nigeria through educational modules. Practical sessions will include skills training in project management, group facilitation, conflict management, advocacy, and leadership.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from individuals actively engaged in various sectors of society, including but not limited to trade unions, civil society organizations, research institutions, administration, educational institutions, and the media. If you have demonstrated a commitment to representing the common interests of the Nigerian people, we encourage you to apply!
Location and Programme Duration
The programme will take place from March to November 2023 at Wuse II, Abuja. Sessions will be held every second and fourth weekend of the month, spanning 16-18 weekends. The schedule will be as follows: Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 32 at the time of application.
- Possess knowledge of socio-economic and political issues in Nigeria.
- Display creativity, progressiveness, and a willingness to drive positive change.
- Have the potential to become positive role models.
- Communicate fluently in English and actively participate in group assignments.
- Reside in Abuja or its surrounding areas and be responsible for their transportation to and from the training location.
- Be prepared to commit to a 95% attendance requirement.
