Former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant believes that some players inside the Arsenal squad are trying to get the manager ravaged.
Pennant has been stunned at the half hearted displays from a number of the players who go onto the pitch for the Gunners.
And he believes that the players should accept blame for the malaise that has currently infected the North London club.
“The players have gotten to appear at themselves because there’s only so much that the manager will do. He will offer directions and choose the team, however he cannot pass the ball for you,” Pennant told 888Sport.
“Some of the goals they are conceding isn’t because of the manager. That comes all the way down to application. That comes all the way down to knowing the way to defend properly. it is the fundamentals like seeing the right pass and knowing wherever to be and wherever to not be. that is down to the players.
“They ought to check out themselves and be more energetic. Defend like each game is a final. Instead they’re half-hearted like they are trying to get emery sacked.”
