Justice Ayo Salami yesterday walked out lawyers representing suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
Justice Salami, who is the chairman of the presidential panel probing the activities of the EFCC from 2015 to 2020, a period of time Magu was in charge, ordered securities to walk out two lawyers from Magu’s team after they were introduced by lead counsel, Wahab Shittu.

While introducing both lawyers on the team, Justice Salami interrupted Shittu by insisting only him would be allowed to defend the suspended EFCC acting chairman.
Magu, it will be recalled had written the judicial commission of inquiry investigating him a letter dated August, 11 in which he raised several issues against the panel, some of which were, failure to reveal it’s mandate and terms of reference, invitation of witnesses without his knowledge and denied access to documents that form the basis of witness testimonies.
