A Nigerian Soldier fighting Boko Haram with the 27 Taskforce Brigade Buni-Yadi in Yobe State has reportedly committed suicide.
According to a report from the military, Lance Corporal committed suicide on Thursday, September 17 at his duty post in Buni-Yadi.
GoldenNewsNg understands the deceased is one of the soldiers deployed to Yobe to fight Boko Haram .
The deceased soldier shot himself with his personal weapon on the head which resulted in his death.
GoldenNewsNg learnt the late soldier left behind a suicidal note addressed to his wife.
His remains were evacuated for further action while the Nigerian Army has launched an investigation on the circumstances that led to the incident
The corpse of the late soldier has been deposited at Specialist Hospital in Damaturu the state capital.
According to Channelstv, When contacted, the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relation, Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole Damaturu, Lieutenant Chinonso Polycarp Oteh promised to get back to Channels Television.
He however failed to return the call as at the time of filing this report.
