N-Power Batch C Recruitment: The Wait Continues After Over 180 Days
185 days after the portal for N-Power Batch C Recruitment closed, the Nigerian government is not announcing anything tangible.
It would be recalled that the N-Power application portal closed at midnight on August 8th, 2020.
On closure of the application, the Federal Government (FG) revealed that over 5 million Nigerian youths indicated interest in the famed scheme.
Subsequently, the FG announced that 1 million successful applicants will be picked from the final application pool.
N-Power: Over 30,000 Beneficiaries Hired As Agric Enumerators
The Presidency says no fewer than 30,000 former N-Power beneficiaries have been hired as agric enumerators.N-Power, cash-for-work programme, inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 with 500,000 of direct beneficiaries, is spread across the key industries targeted by the programme – Agriculture, Health, Education, and Tax.
Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.
He said that Ministers and heads of agencies reported further progress in the implementation of the Federal Government’s Economic Sustainability Plan (ESC) as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over ECS’s meeting on Monday at the Presidential Villa.
N-Power Stipends: Farouq’s Aide Speaks On Outstanding Allowances (ICYMI)
Nneka Ikem, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has disclosed that the Federal Government is “almost done” with paying outstanding stipends of N-Power batches A and B beneficiaries.
Ikem made this known via her known Twitter handle on January 31, 2021.
She was replying to an ex-N-Power beneficiary, Abubakar Muhammad Dangi, who had asked: “when are we getting our backlogs?
Despite the promise by Farouq to pay all outstanding stipends of exited N-Power beneficiaries before the end of 2020, the Nigerian youths are still yet to get paid – 104 days after her pledge.

NPower Creative Programme (North) Training Begins
The Federal Government through the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has announced the commencement of the NPower Creative Programme (North) via it’s twitter handle. The programme is to hold at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria.
Recall that training for NPower Creative South took place in July, 2019.
About NPower Creative
The N-Power Creative programme will train and develop 5,000 young creative talents. The strategy is to put our creative industry on the global radar as exporters of world-class services and content. Training will last 3 months, made up of 1-month in-class and a 2-month hands-on group project, across selected Nigerian cities. The participants will be trained and certified in one of the following courses:
Animation | Graphic Design | Post-production | Script Writing
At the end of the training, some participants will get local and international internship opportunities while others will be linked to job and market opportunities. In addition, all participants will receive computing devices that will ensure that they master their skills during and after the training.
Selection Preference for NPower Creative
- Unemployed graduates or non graduates
- Must be between 18-35 years old
- Basic illustration skills will be an advantage for animation and graphic arts
- For Script Writing, creative writing skills and analytical writing skills will be an advantage
