Sultan of Sokoto urges resident doctors to return to work
Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, has advised resident doctors to suspend their industrial strike for the overall interest of the country.
He also pleaded with the resident doctors to call off the strike in view of the devastating effects of COVID-19 pandemic and the outbreak of cholera in parts of the country.

Nnamdi Kanu Orders IPOB To Suspend South-East Sit-At-Home
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has revealed that it’s leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu ordered the group to suspended the weekly sit-at-home in the South-East states which it earlier instructed.
IPOB had ordered for a sit-at-home to be observed every Monday throughout the southeast region, starting from August 9, until IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released from prison.
But speaking on a radio programme on Friday, IPOB’s Head of DOS, Chika Edoziem announced the suspension of the order
Fake Air Force Personnel Arrested In Abuja
A 32-year-old man, Jack Bemdoo, a native of Benue State, has been arrested in Abuja by the Police for allegedly posing as a personnel of the Nigerian Air Force and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
Parading the suspect at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Poice, CP Babaji Sunday, said Bemdoo was nabbed by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department during a surveillance operation

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has said that women should be empowered for them to have a sense of belonging as major contributors to the development of the society.
Gov. The cleric and his wife, Vera, as well as some family members had been in isolation after testing positive for the virus.
Nigerian Army Hands Over Another Chibok Schoolgirl To Zulum
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Saturday in Gwoza, received another Chibok schoolgirl who presented herself to the Nigerian Army.
The schoolgirl, Hassana Adamu, alongside her two children, was handed over to Governor Zulum by the Commander, 26 Taskforce Brigade, Brigadier General DR Dantani.
Hassana was one of over 200 schoolgirls abducted at a Government Secondary School in Chibok on April 14, 2014, by Boko Haram insurgents.
Buhari Appoints Baba-Yusuf As FCT Acting Chief Judge
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf as the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
The appointment which takes effect from August 1 follows the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
NJC Director of Information, Mr Soji Oye, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, adding that the new chief judge would be sworn in on Monday.
According to him, the Chief Justice of Nigeria and NJC Chairman, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, will preside over the event.
