Nigerians have been warned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Goldennewsng reports that a rumored portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2023 general election was warned off by INEC.
This was stated by INEC in a brief message that the Chief Press Secretary sent to Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chairman of INEC, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Oyekanmi claimed that the portal was fake because the commission’s official recruitment website had been taken down, which meant that the commission was no longer recruiting for the election.
Ad hoc staff positions for the general election in 2023 are being advertised on the website or blog listed below.
“However, for the general election in 2023, the commission is no longer recruiting ad hoc staff.
“On December 14, 2022, the INEC ad hoc staff recruitment portal was officially shut down.
Because of this, the website whose URL is http://www.yournewclaims.com/Inec-Recriutment/ is a hoax. Its purpose is to defraud the general public who are unaware of the scam. He stated, “Nigerians should disregard it.”
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on October 5, 2022, INEC issued a warning regarding the online distribution of a similar bogus ad hoc recruitment link at inecnigeria.govservice.site.
According to NAN, the commission announced on September 7, 2022, that its official recruitment portal for the 2023 general election (www.pres.inecnigeria.org) would open to the public at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, and close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14.
