His belief and support for the younger generations from the students under his care; students from across the Nation and indeed, his uncommon solidarity to Civil Society Groups is second to none.

The Coalition of Northern Groups – CNG, a Pan- Northern group which builds on the glory and thoughts of late Ambassador Maitama Sule (Dan Masanin Kano), to emancipate, educate, mobilise and defend the political, social as well as economic interest of the North within the Nigerian context has carved a mutual and sustainable relationship with Professor M. Y. Auna for the benefit of the average Northerner.

In November 2020, at the pick of insecurity in the region and couple with the tension created as a result of the #EndSARS protest, Prof. M. Y. Auna accepted to Chair the “CNG-NIGER 2nd Security Summit” with the Theme: Peace For All, Is The Business Of All”. This singular action of his has endured us and created a bond with the Coalition of Northern Groups.

Since then, the Professor has continued to give us access and sincere advice on the best possible ways to understand and work for the North and its people. As the Global President, of Kambari ethnic Nationality world wide, Professor Auna has brought his decades of experience to bear on us.

In October 2021, the Students Wing, Coalition of Northern Groups (SW-CNG, Niger) hosted the “Maitama Sule Leadership Lecture Series” with the Theme: The Politics of Restructuring in Nigeria; The Merits & The Demerits For Northern Nigeria”. As the Provost, College Of Education, Minna, the Professor did not only make available a Coastal Bus for easy transportation, the newly renovated One Thousand Capacity Etsu Yahaya Abubakar Hall was approved to Host the Lecture Series. He also in the process served as the Chief Host at the occasion. The event was Chaired my elder Statesman and former House of Rep. Member, Dr Usman Bugaje, amongst other respected elders across Northern Nigeria, including the CNG BOT Chairman, Dr. Nastura Ashir Shariff.

Professor Muhammad Yakubu Auna, has time without number demonstrated his capacity, doggedness, courage, sincerity, commitment and willingness to support the cause of others, empower them and defend his people any day- any where.

It is said that ” Any one that does not understand the language of gratitude is likely not to be in spoken times with the gods”. On behalf of the CNG I thank you a million times Professor Muhammed Yakubu Auna for your uncommon love.

Fatan Alkhari, Farfesa.

Mohammed Mohammed (Msquare) is the North Central Coordinator, Coalition Of Northern Groups, CNG.
