“We’ve paid 84,289 Adhoc staff”- NECO

NECO releases 2020 SSCE results
… Says, some States are yet to redeem their fees

The Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi National Examinations Council (NECO) has disclosed that the Council is not owing ad-hoc staff involved in the conduct of the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school based candidates.

Prof. Wushishi who however did not disclose the amount paid, said the NECO has concluded full payment for the 84,289 ad-hoc staff which include, 18,243 Supervisors, 887 Assistant Supervisors and 65,159 Examiners which commenced last week.

It would be recalled that Prof. Wushishi had on 29th October, 2021 announced the release of the results of the 2021 SSCE for School based candidates.

The Registrar in a statement signed by the Head, Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani and made available to Journalists in Minna, said the Management appreciates the contributions of the Supervisors and Examiners in the success story of the Council over the years.

He however appeals to State Governments yet to pay the examination fees of their candidates who sat for the SSCE (Internal), to do so in order to facilitate the release of the result of such candidates.

It should be recalled that the Registrar/Chief Executive had said that the northern states in Nigeria owe the Examination body over N2.8 billion.

The Examination Body also reiterated its determination to strengthen the existing cordial relationship between the Council an the States.
