On Wednesday, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) announced its plans to broadcast all 52 matches of the African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024. The announcement was made through its official X handle following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Afro Sports.
In a tweet, NTA stated, “NTA signs Memorandum of Understanding with Afro Sports for transmission of 52 matches of Africa Cup Of Nations in Cote D’ivoire.”
Interestingly, this news comes after Multichoice, the parent company of DStv, revealed last Wednesday that it would not be airing the upcoming African Cup of Nations tournament on its platform. The company cited its failure to secure the broadcasting rights for the continent’s premier football event on its SuperSport channels.
