  • List Of CBN Empowerment And Entrepreneurship Options For NEXIT

GoldenNewsNg reports that the Government of Nigeria has given a new update regarding nexit opportunities.

According to the update shared on Twitter by the Nigeria Government, which states that the central bank of Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has developed a portal to enable exited npower_ng beneficiaries to log on and apply for the various CBN economic empowerment and entrepreneurship options such as:

    •  The AGSMEIS loan
    • The Anchor Borrowers Program (ABP) and
    • BOI GEEP loan

AGSMEIS is a federal government intervention funding scheme through CBN that promotes Agric businesses as a vehicle for sustainable economic development and employment generation

Anchor Borrowers’ Program (ABP): The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in line with its developmental function established the Anchor Borrowers’ Program (ABP). The Program which was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) on November 17, 2015, is intended to create a linkage between anchor companies involved in the processing and smallholder farmers (SHFs) of the required key agricultural commodities. The program thrust of the ABP is the provision of farm inputs in kind and cash (for farm labor) to smallholder farmers to boost production.

If you look at the above statement carefully, you will know that the Nigeria youth investment fund NYIF could be part of the CBN Nexit opportunities.

The Government of Nigeria has advised Interested N-Power exited beneficiaries to log on to the CBN portal for more information. The NEXIT portal URL is https://nexit-fmhds.cbn.gov.ng

What we are hoping for is to see that volunteers are not discriminated against based on their age if not, many volunteers will not meet the criteria.

  • Buhari moves forward with goal of lifting 100m Nigerians out of poverty, unveils new plans

GoldenNewsNg report that in the effort of the president , Buhari  to get to reduce the unemployment level among the youths in Nigeria, Buhari has approved the increase of N-Power beneficiaries by one million.

GoldenNewsNg gathered that  the president also approved the expansion of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP). This was disclosed on Thursday, December 10, via his verified Twitter handle @MBuhari, adding that the move was aimed at fulfilling his promise of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

President Buhari emphasised that five million pupils would be added into the National Home-Grown School Feeding Program (NHGSFP).

President Muhammdu Buhari says he is ready to lift 100 million Nigerians from poverty before he leaves office in 2023.

We remain committed to the plan to lift 100m Nigerians out of poverty. To this end I have approved an increase in scope of our Social Investment Programme:
Doubling of @npower_ng beneficiaries to 1 million; 1 million new @geep_ng beneficiaries & 5 million new pupils for @NHGSFP.

  • Nigerian govt plans to spend N400 billion on NPOWER in 2021

For 2021 fiscal year, the Nigerian government, under the ministry of humanitarian affairs, has proposed to spend N400 billion on its social investment programmes (NSIP).

According to report gathered by GoldenNewsNg , This comprises a total recurrent expenditure of N350 billion and N50 billion for capital spendings, according to a document submitted to the National Assembly by its joint committees on poverty alleviation.

A document showed that while the proposed recurrent expenditure for next year would remain unchanged, the estimate for personnel cost was increased by 2.31 per cent, from N166.3 billion in 2020 to N170.1 billion in 2021.

This increase is “because of (an) increase in the number of NPOWER (NTEACH Hub) beneficiaries from 400,000 to 450,000,” the document said.

More than half of the total proposal for recurrent expenditure (that is 52.6 per cent) would be used for the implementation of programme components of the Job Creation Unit (JCU), including N-Power and Innovation Hubs.

This means that NPOWER and its affiliate sub-programmes on job creation for the enrolment of 450,000 N-Power volunteers and training, tooling and mentoring of 54,000 non-graduate beneficiaries would cost about N200.3 billion.

  • Verification Notice for N-Power Beneficiaries Omitted From Payments

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has directed Batches A and B Beneficiaries of the N-Power Programme who were earlier omitted from Payment of their stipends to report to their various State Focal Persons for verification and re-validation.

The directive was given by Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq as efforts to resolve unpaid stipends withheld due to discrepancies in records of the beneficiaries are almost being concluded.

Investigations conducted by the Office of the AGF following the omission of some N-Power beneficiaries from payment of stipends indicated that some beneficiaries were also drawing salaries from other Federal Government MDAs

However, the minister has directed that opportunity be given to the affected beneficiaries to verify and re-validate their eligibility so that qualified beneficiaries can be paid for their participation in the N-Power Programme.

Beneficiaries are thereby directed to report to their State Focal Persons immediately with their bank account details including bank statements from March 2020 to date, NYSC Discharge Certificates, birth certificates and other related screening documents.
