The police in Gombe State have arrested 25-year-old Ibrahim Saidu, for stabbing a motorcyclist to death.
Saidu went into a rage after the deceased mistakenly hit his dog.
Commissioner of Police, Ishola Babaita, on Tuesday, said he was arrested by operatives from Akko Division.
“Saidu stabbed Saleh Babayo, which resulted to his untimely death, because the victim mistakenly knocked down his dog with his motorcycle”, the CP narrated.
Babaita added that Babayo was taken to the General Hospital in Kumo where he was confirmed dead.
The Police chief disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime and would be charged to court.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the dog survived the crash and was paraded alongside Saidu.
Also, five persons were arrested for kidnapping, while two others were nabbed for impersonation and rape.
One AK 47 with three rounds of 7.62mm of live ammunition and two cutlasses were recovered. The suspects would be arraigned soon
