Thousands of people including members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP over the weekend stormed the Edati local government area of Niger state when Alhaji Isah Liman Kantigi declared to run for the Governorship position of the state.
While declaring his intention, Hon. Isah Liman Kantigi prayed God almighty to unite the people for development saying “I am declaring my intent for the Governorship position to help liberate Niger state”.
According to him “I pledge to ensure that I bring more development, Infrastructure and capacity development for the people to reduce the level of poverty and improve standards of living”.
Kantigi, it should be recalled was the running mate to former gubernatorial candidate Umar Nasko under the PDP platform in the 2015.
It was an emotional event for thousands of people including Elders, women and youth.
Several people who spoke at the event were full of joy and praises and recount the giants strides, Hon Kantigi made during his tenure as Local Government Chairman and Commissioner for Local Government.
They cited construction of roads, healthcare centers, electricity supply to several rural communities, scholarships and Agricultural value.
