The Labour Party has chosen Akin Osuntokun, a former Political Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, to be the new Director General of its Presidential Campaign.
Goldennewsng reports that Julius Abure, the party’s National Chairman, confirmed this on Tuesday in Abuja.
As indicated by Abure, the choice was arrived at after extensive discussions with party partners across board.
Doyin Okupe, who resigned from his position last week, will now be replaced by Osuntokun.
After being found guilty of money laundering by a federal high court, Okupe resigned from his position.
He was given a two-year prison sentence by the court, with the option to pay N13 million in fines totaling N500,000 for each count.
Following the sentence, Okupe decided to pay the fine.
