Do UI Offer Physiology?

Yes, the University of Ibadan (UI) is fully accredited to offer Physiology in Nigeria. Prospective students can apply through JAMB or other direct entry options such as JUPEB.

Requirements Check List

To study Physiology in UI, you must meet the following JAMB and O’ level subject (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) requirements:

JAMB Subject: Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
O’ level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) Requirement: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Direct Entry Requirements: Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Zoology. Mathematics is not needed in JAMB for those who want to study Physiology in UI.

UI Cut Off Mark For Physiology

To study Physiology in UI, you must score at least 200 in JAMB to qualify for Post UTME. However, a JAMB score of 240 and above is recommended for admission to the College of Medicine in UI to study Physiology. Doing well in UI Post UTME Exam is also a prerequisite.

Post UTME Score For Physiology In UI

A score of 55 in UI Post UTME is good enough for Physiology. However, the admission process is dependent on various factors, such as merit, ELDS, general student performance, etc. Students admitted on the merit list must score well above the aggregate score for Physiology. Based on previous years, the aggregate score for Physiology in UI is 57.

UI Physiology Aggregate Score

UI Aggregate score for admission to Physiology is 57. To calculate UI admission aggregate score, you divide your JAMB Score by 8 and your Post UTME score by 2 and sum them up. Therefore, your aggregate score is the summation of your JAMB score divided by 8 and your Post UTME score divided by 2.

Other Direct Entry Requirement

JUPEB Program For Physiology In UI: Aside from JAMB, you can also be admitted to study Physiology through JUPEB, which stands for Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board. To kickstart this process, you will first need to buy the form NGN15,000 and sit for the entrance exam. The program spans for 1 year (2 semesters), and successful candidates would then be given admission to study Physiology beginning from 200 level.

JAMB Direct Entry: For students who have studied other courses before and want to study Physiology, you can apply through JAMB direct entry and be admitted to 200 levels.

How Many Years To Study Physiology In UI?

It takes four years to study Physiology in the University of Ibadan. If you add one year for NYSC, the entire study duration is five years.
