After Writing 2023 JAMB Exam, What’s Next? | Here is what every candidate should do.

The 2023 JAMB UTME has come to an end, and as usual, candidates are eagerly anticipating their results. However, regardless of whether the outcome is favorable or not, it’s important to understand that a high JAMB score doesn’t guarantee admission into higher institutions, and a low score doesn’t necessarily disqualify a candidate from gaining admission.

In the past, many candidates who scored high in JAMB were unable to secure admission into their desired institutions. On the other hand, some candidates with low JAMB scores of less than 200 were able to gain admission without having to retake the exam. Therefore, it’s essential to note that JAMB is just one of the criteria used in the admission process.

Admission into higher institutions is highly competitive, and it involves several factors such as meeting the cutoff mark, having the required O’level grades, passing the post-UTME screening, and meeting other institutional requirements. Consequently, candidates should not rely solely on their JAMB score to gain admission but focus on meeting all the admission requirements.

It’s also important to note that gaining admission doesn’t necessarily depend on the institution’s popularity. Candidates can gain admission into any institution irrespective of its status. The most important factor is meeting the admission requirements set by the institution.

In summary, while the JAMB score is a vital criterion for admission into higher institutions, it’s not the only factor. Candidates should strive to meet all the admission requirements set by their desired institutions to increase their chances of gaining admission.

So basically, a low or high JAMB score is not the ultimate determinant of who gains and who doesn’t gain admission.

So at this point, what we expect all 2023 JAMB candidates to do is ask the following critical questions?

  1. >> What was my school’s cut-off mark last year? CLICK HERE TO CHECK SCHOOLS CUT-OFF MARK
  2. >> What was the cut-off mark for my intended course of study?CLICK HERE TO CHECK SCHOOLS CUT-OFF MARK
  3. >> Do I need a change of course/institution?
  4. >> What’s the school’s Post-UTME Screening like?
  5. >> How Can I prepare adequately for my school’s Post-UTME Screening?

When it comes to securing admission into higher institutions, it’s essential to be proactive and take necessary steps to increase your chances of success. Here are some critical questions to consider:

  1. What is your JAMB score? Knowing your JAMB score is crucial as it determines your eligibility to participate in the admission process. If your score is high enough to meet the cutoff mark for your desired institution, then you stand a good chance of gaining admission. However, if your score is low, you may need to consider alternative options such as polytechnics or taking JAMB again.
  2. What are the admission requirements for your desired institution? It’s essential to research and understand the admission requirements for your desired institution. This includes knowing the cutoff mark, O’level grades required, and any other requirements specific to the institution. By understanding these requirements, you can focus on meeting them and increasing your chances of gaining admission.
  3. How can you prepare for the Post-UTME screening? The Post-UTME screening is a critical stage in the admission process, and it’s important to prepare adequately for it. Don’t wait for the institution to announce the sales of Post-UTME forms before you start preparing. Start studying relevant subjects, practice past questions, and work on your exam-taking skills.

If your JAMB score is not high enough to secure admission into your desired institution, and you stand a better chance of gaining admission in a polytechnic, then it’s advisable to go for it. Don’t wait until next year to retake JAMB if you don’t have to.

In conclusion, securing admission into higher institutions requires hard work, determination, and preparation. By answering these critical questions and taking the necessary steps, you can increase your chances of success and achieve your academic goals.
