Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic HND Admission Form For The 2023/2024 Academic Session: Application Guidelines and Eligibility

 

The Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic in Ikot Osurua is pleased to announce the availability of the Higher National Diploma (HND) admission form for the 2023/2024 academic year. This form is exclusively for qualified applicants who meet the admission requirements. The application fee for the HND form is 7,700 naira.

The HND application form for the current academic year at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, remains consistent with previous sessions, with only minor changes that, in most cases, do not significantly impact the application process.

Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic HND Courses and Entry Requirements:

The Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic offers various HND courses across different schools. Below are the courses offered and their corresponding entry requirements:

  1. School of Applied Sciences:
    • Higher National Diploma in Computer Science
    • Higher National Diploma in Statistics
    • Higher National Diploma in Science Lab Technology with options in:
      • Chemistry
      • Biochemistry
      • Physics with electronics
      • Microbiology
      • Environmental Biology

    Entry Requirements:

    • Minimum of Lower Credit pass in National Diploma (ND) from a Computer Science, Statistics, or Science Laboratory Technology program accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
    • Fulfillment of the minimal requirements for ND programs in Computer Science, Statistics, or Science Laboratory Technology.
    • Completion of one-year post-ND Industrial Work Experience.
    • Candidates with at least two years of post-ND industry work experience in an NBTE-accredited program for ND in Statistics, Computer Science, or Science Laboratory Technology are also eligible to apply.
  2. School of Business and Management Studies:
    • Higher National Diploma in Accountancy
    • Higher National Diploma in Business Administration
    • Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management

    Entry Requirements:

    • Minimum of Lower Credit pass in ND from an NBTE-accredited program in Accountancy, Business Administration, or Office Technology and Management.
    • Fulfillment of the minimal requirements for ND programs in Accounting, Business Administration, or Office Technology and Management.
    • Completion of one-year post-ND industrial work experience.
    • Candidates with at least two years of post-ND industry work experience in ND programs of Accounting, Business Administration, or Office Technology & Management (with a Pass grade) are also eligible to apply.
  3. School of Communication Arts:
    • Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication

    Entry Requirements:

    • Minimum of Lower Credit pass in ND in Mass Communication from an NBTE-accredited program.
    • Fulfillment of the minimal requirements for ND programs in Mass Communication.
    • Completion of one-year post-ND industrial work experience.
    • Candidates with at least two years of post-ND industrial job experience in Mass Communication (with a Pass grade) can also apply.
  4. School of Engineering:
    • Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with an option in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering

    Entry Requirements:

    • National Diploma at a Lower Credit level in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an NBTE-accredited program.
    • Fulfillment of the minimal requirements for ND program in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
    • Completion of one-year Industrial Work Experience Scheme.
    • Applicants with at least two years of post-ND industry work experience and a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (with Pass grades) can apply.
  5. School of Environmental Studies:
    • Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology
    • Higher National Diploma in Building Technology
    • Higher National Diploma in Estate Management and Valuation
    • Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying
    • Higher National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning

    Entry Requirements:

    • National Diploma at a Lower Credit level from NBTE-accredited programs in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, or Urban and Regional Planning.
    • Fulfillment of the minimal requirements for ND programs in the respective fields.
    • Completion of one-year Industrial Work Experience Scheme.
    • Applicants with at least two years of post-ND industry work experience and a National Diploma (with a Pass grade) in the relevant field can also apply.

Note: Students with a National Diploma in Marketing, Banking & Finance, or Public Administration are eligible to apply for admission to the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Business Administration program.

General Eligibility for Akwa Ibom State Poly HND Admission Form:

To apply for the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Higher National Diploma (HND) admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Original copy of SSCE/NECO/GCE certificate(s).
  2. Original copy of ND certificate or Certified Statement of ND Result.
  3. Original copy of Certificate of origin.
  4. Two file jackets.
  5. Two passport photographs.
  6. Evidence of completion of post-ND one-year industrial attachment.
  7. Compliance with Covid-19 protocols throughout the application process.

Steps to Apply for the Akwa Poly HND Admission Form 2023/2024:

Follow the steps below to successfully apply for the Akwa Poly HND admission form:

  1. Visit the school’s official website at http://www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng and click on the online application link. Create an invoice by providing your name and phone number.
  2. Proceed to the designated banks (UBA, Zenith Bank, Diamond Bank) with the generated invoice to purchase an electronic PIN. Make a payment of N7,700 (excluding bank charges and other fees).
  3. Return to the Akwa Poly website and enter the PIN (Confirmation Order) you received. Follow the provided instructions.
  4. On the application portal, select “Admissions” and then “Application Forms.” Choose your desired program and enter the PIN in the corresponding field.
  5. Ensure that your application is completed by the specified deadline, which is usually Friday.
  6. This application procedure is open to applicants nationwide.
  7. The list of selected candidates will be published online, and an aptitude exam will be conducted on August 15th.

Additional Requirements for HND Candidates:

HND applicants must fulfill the following additional requirements:

  • Include a letter of industrial attachment valid for one year.
  • Submit an official transcript from ND to the Registrar.
