Amotekun operatives in Ondo State have arrested two cemetery guards for alleged possession of human heads.
Naija News reports that the two guards, who were workers at a cemetery belonging to an old generation church in Surulere Area of Ondo town, were arrested on Sunday.
According to the residents of the area, one of the workers simply identified as Alhaji was caught with a bag containing the heads of dead bodies.
It was said that the two workers had been tampering with corpses buried in the cemetery and selling their body parts to ritualists.
The residents said that about 44 tombs were discovered to have no dead bodies inside them, saying that the bodies have been allegedly exhumed by guards.
Confirming the development, the Commander of Amotekun in the State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said that the two suspects were rescued when the residents were about to lynch them.
The Amotekun Commander, however, said human heads were not found on the suspects upon arrest.
